If You’re Not 49andcounting, Don’t Read This…

Because today I feel like talking “old”. Yip, that dreaded three-letter word. But let’s face it, old happens. Or older, whatever you want to call it.

Do I consider myself “old”…NO! Do I considering myself “getting there”…YES! Is it such a bad thing…NO! I look forward to the next 25 years, to less cooking, more traveling, being a grammy, more down-time, less stress. With that probably come a few aches and pains, and a higher pharmacy bill! That part stinks, but like my Doctor told me yesterday, “As you get older, your body wears out.”

Darn, that was hard to hear. I’m only 49andcounting (and those of you who know, know what that means), I’m not THAT old. Then I got home and got to thinking…would I drive a car for 50 years? It surely would have to have some pretty major care and work done to it. Possibly even an overhaul.  With all that, it becomes…A Classic! Oh, what a great thought…I’m a classic!

Might take a few extra meds, or even a hip replacement along the way…but I’m darn lucky no one “traded me in”! Life is good, and I’m a Camero!

About 49andcounting

Hi! I'm a mom, wife, grammy, sister, friend at that ALMOST 50 age!! (Okay, since I started this a few years ago...well, add a bit to 49andcounting!) How the heck did I get here so fast?!? I love, love, love- my girls, antiques, rural America, history, Jesus, junkin, the lake and my Big Boy...not particularly in that order. It's about time I change this profile a bit. After a year or living in our 5th wheel in beautiful Pennsylvania, My Big Boy and I are back to the Kansas Prairies. And there's just nothing like "Home Sweet Home". Hitting the Big 50 has its own unique, well...let's say...blessings :) So come along, laugh with me...cry with me...praise God with me...and let's do this 49andcounting thing, together!

I loved this article… how I can relate… one day I couldn’t move my arm (totally locked)… and I thought is this all this is to life? That was about 20 years ago… and they made me take electro-steroid treatments and I thought it was voodoo and after the 7th treatment my shoulder finally felt like “new”… wow… but scary about getting old. I like the car you picked… my first car a “camaro”… so cool!
