This week I watched Kane, my 5 yr old grandson. Yesterday he came out of his bedroom dressed like this…

Be still my heart:} Five years old and he’s using his imagination (as he frequently told me this week). I know very little about super heroes, until Kane it had been all girls, but Kane loves them. His bedroom is decorated in a Spiderman theme. When I called him Spiderman he replied, “No, Owee Mimi…I am Thrash and he’s indestructible!” I was amazed that the word “indestructible” came out of his mouth…but, oh the things they know.
Got me to thinking about being indestructible in this world we live in. I’ve recently watched so much pain that others are carrying…cancer, divorce, financial ruin, teen suicide, disabling disease. These are friends and family who are hurting, some burying the pain, some swimming in it, and even some losing all hope. Truth… life is tough. We live in a fallen and sinful world and we are not “indestructible”. But, I know who is. Jesus is my Super Hero. All of the times that I see no way, see no answers, see no hope…I look to Jesus. I cling to his strength and power. I believe that he has the super power to get me through any trial of this life. Jesus gives me comfort, Jesus gives me peace, Jesus gives me guidance.
Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Philippians 4:6 & 7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
John 16:13 But when he, the spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.
If you are fighting a battle in life, start each day by calling to Jesus. Pray, read your Bible or a devotional. Ask Him to be your Super Hero. Listen and watch for his leading. He will speak to you, He will carry you through, He is “indestructible”.
Love and hugs to all, Some day I’ll tell you the story of how I became ‘Owee Mimi’ :}
This makes me smile. Grands are the best. Thank you again for sharing your every day experiences. 💕
