Let me tell you what you’re missing. An hour before the rest of the world wakes up, life is magnified. It is beautiful. I know…it’s hard for you to believe, but try it once, I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
When you are the only one up in the house, and it is still dark outside…the world is silence. May be the only time in your day that you can really take a moment and listen to silence. No tv, no kids, no cars…just beautiful silence. And in that silence, you can feel your heart beat…slowly, gently. Count your breathes…isn’t it wonderful to just be relaxed enough to count your breathes.
Take a cup of coffee and go outside. There are still stars out, and the cool breeze, well it feels as if your battery is being recharged. Early in the morning is the time to take a moment and just be. Just be thankful, just be you, just breathe. If you wait a few minutes, the sun starts to rise, the birds begin to sing…and you’re in the middle of the most peaceful, beautiful concert that God has given.
Although you think you might be missing those lasts minutes of rest all tucked in bed, rising in the early morning can give you rest. Rest for the soul, rest for you…calm, quiet rest.
If you’re not a morning person, you don’t know what you’re missing. Refreshment…peace…joy. Take a morning, just one hour early, and revive your soul.
Psalms 30:5 “joy comes in the morning”.
Just coincidence, but I awoke before dawn for the first time in many months. You’re right. It was serene.
