Finally, we’ve landed! My Big Boy and I have parked the 5th wheel and moved to a country house on the prairie! Just a few miles to the lake (his hearts desire), and I can see town from my kitchen window but, I’m not in town so, technically, ‘in the country’…(my hearts desire)!
As I sit on the deck and look out across the Kansas prairie, as I watch the moon go down and the sun come up…I breathe in, and feel peace. My cherry cabinets and floors, my granite countertops, my air and heat are far from the life of the prairie woman I imagine. But I feel her spirit each day.
As she stoked the fire, lit the lamps, gathered eggs for breakfast, not to mention the wardrobe she donned, layers and layers of petticoats beneath a heavy dress…she began a long, hard day ahead. My life is much easier than hers. But I believe we love the same.
Love our families, love our communities, love the Kansas prairie.
Let’s go antiquing, let’s plant a garden (or maybe just lots of flowers), let’s hang clothes on the line, and sew. Come along with me, as I discover the heritage she has left me and embrace the place where God has put me…My Little House on the Kansas Prairie.
“It Looks LIke You!!”
Love it so much… it looks like you! I don’t know what that means… but you have you ever had anyone tell you something “looks like you”… or something else? Like the one we get all the time… “your kids look like you”… “your grandkids look like you”… “your Dad looks like you”… AND the ones we don’t want to hear or maybe we do (Vicky).. “your dog looks like you”. But how about inanimate objects? Like: “Your car looks like you”? “Your clothes look like your”? “Your house looks like you”?
I am getting your disease. Writing. Oh no.

I can so relate with you! There’s nothing I can think of better than coming home to the Kansas Prairie!
I am sure it’s like Little House on the Prairie..enjoy it
So, you have moved back to Kansas from Pennsylvania? Or am I reading that wrong? Sounds like a lovely home, anyway….
Back in Kansas…I guess I’m going to have to take the time to update my “about me” page!
