The nature of my Big Boy’s occupation is that nothing is permanent. Last Wednesday, I received a phone call, started packing my “home on wheels”, and by night we were on the road.
He driving the truck and 5th wheel, me following in my car. I prayed and thanked Jesus for our time in Pennsylvania. For the opportunities to see the beautiful landscape, and enjoy the area, for the people I have met. I felt a little sad, driving away from the trees and winding roads…but the road ahead soon became the yellow brick road. “Kansas, here I come.” Life has taken another turn, and my stop is in Kansas. My Big Boy is headed to North Dakota..but I know somewhere in our marriage vows it said, “I will follow you anywhere but places that are 30 below on a good day!”
No more covered bridge tours, no more jaunts up the mountain, no more Gettysburg or Amish Country, no more Elliott family cemetery (that was the hardest to leave) …but…I am sure I will have stories to tell, places to go, and people to meet.
I hope you come with me. Trust God’s timing and leading with me. Pray for me as I make changes, and see just where 49andcounting may go.
“Toto, we’re home…and there’s no place like home!”
