I’ve really enjoyed my fall arrangement of pumpkins and mums. Think every time I’ve walked out the door, I’ve gotten a glimpse of them and taken a moment to breathe in and savor a bit of fall. But at 49andcounting I’ve run in to a bit of a problem. Who’s going to carve the jack-o-lantern?
The chicks have all left the nest, the grandbabies are hundreds of miles away, and I have a huge orange pumpkin that definitely needs to become a jack-o-lantern! Yesterday afternoon, I did something that I haven’t done in years, I carved the pumpkin. I’ll have to admit, all those years when the kids were home I was the picture taker…I didn’t get into the middle of the mess (same with Easter eggs)…so it had been years since I stuck my hand into the pumpkin mush…but yesterday I did it! And had so much fun.
Isn’t it cute? Boy, did My Big Boy think I was a little bit crazy when I asked for his drill! I found the idea on pinterest, and is just my kind of jack-o-lantern!
Guess you’re never too old. By the way, did I tell you that I was the “Pumpkin Princess” once. (that had to do with a great pumpkin fudge recipe!) Can’t wait to come up with other ways to relive my childhood. Any ideas???
