My flight departed at 6:20 am. You know what that means, alarm set for 3 and out the door by 4. By the time I had boarded the flight, snuggled into my window seat and we’d taken off, well…I snoozed off. What I saw when I opened my eyes, I’ll never forget. It’s a moment etched in time for me.
You know that feeling, when you awake and you didn’t even realize you had been asleep? It must have been just a few minutes, because we weren’t above the clouds. And when I looked out my window, glancing down to the earth, I saw a glowing cross. A huge shining cross, surrounded by softer twinkling lights. It was a God moment, and oh, how I wish I would have had time to grab my camera. I absolutely had Holy Spirit goosebumps. How cool.
Playing that picture over in my mind, and thinking about it over and over, I believe it was a small Kansas town. It was probably their main street and the cross street illuminated by bright street lights, and the softer lights..all the street lights in the surrounding neighborhoods.
But for a moment, I saw God. I saw his hand watching over a small Kansas town that has no idea He has placed His stamp on them. I saw myself, being such a tiny part of His big picture.
That glowing cross assured me. It assured me that God has a plan so much bigger than I can imagine. So much bigger than I see with my eyes, and each detail of life is an important part of His perfect plan.
I believe. Oh, I believe. God is watching over you.
