Lord, I am so thankful for everyday moments.
For laughs with family even though its long distance. For the smell of chicken frying, For the excitement of a daughter coming to visit. For aches and pains and wrinkles, just a part of growing older.
I’m so thankful for memories of grandparents, and parents. The kind that make me smile, just remembering. I’m thankful for black-eyed susans just like my grandma’s and a little red bird, just like my dad’s. For new friends, and new places. I’m thankful for the cool evening breeze that reminds me that fall is near.
I’m thankful for a hard-working husband who constantly does things to make me happy. And daughters who try to make the world a better place. Brothers and sisters who love and respect each other. Even the computer that brings me closer to old friends.
I’m thankful that you reminded me to look at people on the inside not the out. And to hold my tongue, at times it just doesn’t need said. I’m thankful that you show me that when I listen, you speak. And that prayer is an action verb.
I’m thankful for moments like these, everyday moments. And blessed that each moment, if I stop and notice, has a million words. I pray for my friends, those who are reading this, and those who don’t even know it exists, I pray that they too, may have moments like these.
An attitude of gratitude – I love this piece. Thank you for the reminder that it is the “moments” you talk about we should never take for granted but always be thankful for. I know I try to be. Have a great weekend friend! 🙂
Wish I had a “like” button 🙂
Yep, this one’s the clincher. I was reading through a few of your posts, just kinda browsing and getting to know you a little bit. Of course I’d liked what I read (and commented). But this post was so eloquent that I’ve decided to subscribe to your blog.
