This is a trap. My genius, invention! And here’s the story…
Very late one night, I had the beejeebums scared out of me as two very large deer were standing in our yard. So, a few days later, when the bird feeder was knocked over and all the feed gone, our thought was…deer.
Then one morning we woke to the sack of bird feed that I keep in a small trash can, right next to our camper, pulled out of the container and taken several feet away, our thought….deer? (this time a little more skeptical)
When I woke up last Friday and our grill was knocked over, I began to worry! It’s a table top Weber but the thing has to weigh 30 lbs. The night before, while watching tv, My Big Boy and I had this conversation. “Honey, did you feel that?” “What” (insert blank look) “The trailer just moved?” (remember we’re living in our 5th wheel trailer) “What???” (this was the kind of…’you’re nuts’ response) “I’m not kidding, I just felt the trailer shake.”
Ten minutes later. “Honey, it did it again.” “Did what again?” “The trailer…it just moved.” At this point, I was having thoughts of earthquakes, well, because my mind just works that way. And My Big Boy was rolling his eyes thinking I’d just gone off the deep end. (which I believe he thinks often) Seeing I was getting no real response from him, I left it all in God’s hands, and went to bed. (What else is a girl to do, if it’s gonna earthquake, it’s gonna earthquake!)
So the next morning, when the grill lay strewn in our yard, my trailer moving story began to hold some weight! Deer? Maybe a large racoon? Or the worst…a bear! We do live in bear country you know! Even had My Big Boy out there looking for tracks.
The next night, a few pieces of trash were out in the yard. Hence…my idea. (Which has My Big Boy rolling with laughter. He doesn’t think it will work. Oh, I so want to prove him wrong!) I was thinking. Load the trash can with good stuff, edible stuff, smelly stuff…them sprinkle flour all around it. And when we get up…we’ll have tracks!! We’ll know what we’re dealing with. In the meantime, I hope no bear comes knocking at my door, and I’m thinking I may have a mess to pick up. But I’m feeling so Sherlock Holmes, so Shaggy and Scooby.
The trap is set. Now we wait and see.
lol. I can’t wait to hear what happened! 🙂
So what happened?!! Enquiring minds want to know!!
Sherlock still hasn’t busted the case…ongoing!!
