My Big Boy and I got up early to travel to the Farmer’s Market in Greensboro, PA. (A few miles down the road, well…like 10 miles) We had visions of new potatoes and corn on the cob. But along the way we came upon…Cabbage Flats. Datadada…heaven!!
Miles of yards sales. People and cars everywhere. My heart jumped with glee. The big Boy’s heart?, well…he had to be convinced…think he felt a little overwhelmed. But what a guy…we parked and walked, and walked, and walked!
I love yard sales. For less than 25 bucks, I felt like we won the lottery. Think I even had My Big Boy feeling that way with his $2 electric chain saw (needing just slight repairs?!). I usually come away with things for the grandkids. (When you live in a 5th wheel, space is limited, so I have to be particular.) I couldn’t pass up these old cobalt blue bottles. Did you know that three of anything is a collection? So I had to buy three.
And with a quick trip to my flower garden, the bottles are perfect.
We made it home with corn on the cob, bacon from the farm (that was worth the entire trip), pecan bars, and honey. Love those Farmer’s Markets. Going back next week for new potatoes.
I’m going to have to save it for another blog on the names around here…but, “Cabbage Flats?” Who came up with that? Just so you’re on the edge of your seat, I also drive through a little place called “Pancake”!
This was a perfect Saturday for me, and for some reason after all that, I want to break out in song, singing “God Bless America”.
