As I was snuggling into bed the other night, I got a call from my “much older” sister….I love to say that. Actually, she’s six years older, and well, since I’m 49andcounting…you do the math!
Our conversation went a little like this…
“Michaela, how do I text on my phone?”
“Are you kidding me?” “Just how long have you had your Blackberry?” (long pause, because we both know it’s been a long time!)
“I’m suppose to be receiving a password I’ve lost, via a text message, and I don’t know how to find it.” “I don’t even know how to text.”
“Okay, well, I don’t have the same phone…but go to menu and look for it.”
“Look for what?”
“I don’t know, something like ‘text messages’.”
“I can’t find it, there’s sms, and mms.”
“Well, click on one of those buttons.” “Or try the little envelope on your home screen.”
“Oh, the little envelope with the number 2 on top of it! I can do that?”
“Yes, click on it.” “Here’s the deal, just go find a high schooler. Even the grocery checkout girl, anyone under 20 will be able to help you.” “I’ll admit, I had a highschool girl I don’t even know set up my phone.” “Anyway, shouldn’t we be talking about something else, like how the kids and grandkids are. Don’t you have anything important to tell me?”
(Insert 30 minutes of very interesting conversation, cuz that’s what sisters do!)
“I did it! I found it!”
“Yeah! You’ve opened yourself to a whole new world. Wait til you figure out sending photos via text messaging!”
So the next morning, while drinking my coffee, I came up with the greatest photo message to send her…
“Look at these age spots on my legs, aren’t they awful!”
And that’s the kind of things sisters talk about and now ‘text about’ at 49andcounting.
OMG! That is hilarious. I hope my daughter is fortunate enough to have a sister someday! 🙂
LOVE IT! Go Aunt Robin for figuring it out!
