It’s 4:30 am, and God, being the amazing God that He is, said, “Michaela, now this could be your passion.” No audible voice, no lightning strikes, but when I found this video I do think there were fireworks going off on the big screen of my mind. And at this point, I won’t even question whether it was God nudging me out of bed, or just my bladder. Whichever, it worked. (When it comes right down to it he controls all things.)
I love this lady. I want to be her. Well, I want to be the Michaela version of her. So maybe I’ll have my hair dyed flaming red, and wear crazy 1960’s retro clothes, but she and I, we love old glass. And I love yard sales, and I love flea markets, and I love auctions. And if I add to my collection of crystal now, well, I have 3 daughters that will someday get married, and won’t they just have the most beautiful reception tables! (If they’re reading this, at this point they’re like, “oh mom, pleazzzeee don’t start buying green depression glass!”) And I won’t, maybe not, I already have pink and yellow started. I’ll work on adding to those sets!
Not only do we have the love of glass in common, but did you see her age? I believe I’ve got a way to go after 50! (I do think she’s beautiful, don’t you love her white hair?) She’s got experience, she’s got wisdom, she’s got time on her side. I love old people, good thing, as I’m on my way to being one! Being 49andcounting is feeling pretty good at this moment.
Back to the details. I’m not sure how I’m going to pull this off, expanding my antique glass collection to the passion level. ! (Watch the rest of her videos, I’m loving her basement full of glass. Yip, that’s passion!) I don’t believe it will fit in the RV, but I’ll work it out. For now, it’s the thrill of the hunt. It’s going to be #1 on my Passion List. And my daughter has the nicest storage room in her basement. (I’m kidding, I’m kidding…I’ll check into a storage unit if I need to!)
Take a minute, watch the video, if it’s not your passion, at least you’ll learn how to distinguish crystal from glass. And don’t we all need to know that little tidbit?
