Yesterday I had a weird moment. I was listening to K-Love Radio online. Did you know that you can click and listen to just Christmas music? Well, that’s what I’ve been playing for a week or so. Anyway, I’m singing along with Bing, Bob and all the greats, enjoying my “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas to I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”. When “Carol of the Bells” comes on.
Ok, have heard it a thousand times, but like I said, I was having a “weird moment”. Have you ever listened to “Carol of the Bells” played at the appropriate speed (in music, I’m sure there’s some right word for it. Oh yea, tempo) Have you listened to Carol of the Bells at the correct tempo?
Golly, gee whiz. It got faster, and faster, and louder and louder…and my heart started beating quickly, and my pulse began to race, and possibly I had sweat beads forming on my brow. And all those posts I’ve written about ‘holiday peace’. Well, suffice it to say, warning! Do Not Listen to “Carol of the Bells” if you want to feel peace. After that song, racing through my mind was something like this…”shop, cook, wrap, write, cards, cookies, ham, tape, lights, tinsel, bows, menu, yeast, dough, clothes, stamps…and on, and on, and on.” (Make sure you read that sentence as fast as you can.) Because while listening to that song, my mind was swirling, for a few moments, I began to feel the Christmas stress.
So I’m just taking this moment to warn you. You have been officially warned. Do not click the arrow below unless you want your heart pounding. Me, I’m going back to “Silent Night” tempo!

You’re right… I think this should be used at funerals…. or something “quiet” like quiet-time…
