No matter what time of year, I don’t care if it’s July, if you would ask, ” what brings you to a place of peace?” my answer would be…”the Christmas tree”. Lights down low, white twinkly lights (lots of them), and maybe some soft music on the radio. That’s my spot. My “all is well with the world” spot. When the girls were little, remember that being my “sanity spot”. Everybody to bed, lights out, and mom sitting alone in the living room, just me and the white twinkly lights. Add a cup of hot tea and my Bible, and well, let’s just say…heaven.
So this year rolls around, and I’m living in a 5th wheel. Not a lot of room for a Christmas tree. And until last week, I had thought I wouldn’t do any Christmas decorating at all. Won’t be here for the holiday, space limitations, all that stuff. But I couldn’t stand it any longer. And totally out of my Christmas tree comfort zone, I bought a 24″, Dollar General, LED lit, continuous color changing Christmas Tree! Not only does it set on a table, but it changes from white, to green, to red, to blue, to purple…purple..who ever thought purple was a Christmas color?! Definitely, out of my warm fuzzy place!
But you know what? Tonight, at 3am, with only LED purple lights shining in my RV, I sat for a moment next to my Christmas tree…and…it still works for me. It’s here…peace. All is well in my world.
I pray too, that you find this feeling.
It’s hard to explain how much peace and joy come from a quite house and a lit christmas tree. If I can have a cup of something warm in my hands and my Christmas piano CD playing it can take away all the worries of the day.
In no time at all you can come enjoy the decorations here instead of your little tree!
