Grammy, Let’s Dance…

Being 49andcounting isn’t all about aches and pains. The most wonderful part of reaching this age is being a Grammy.

There are so many awesome advantages about being the Grammy. I’m not stressed with cooking, cleaning and laundry and in that I find I’m much more gentle. In my responses, in my patience, in my correcting. I can see now that to be 3 is to run and jump and giggle and scream…and it’s okay. Instead of driving me crazy! I have time and take time to let little 3 yr old hands help, instead of worrying about the bigger mess they will make. And those big brown eyes and huge smile that come with stirring the cookie dough or cracking the egg, are so worth it. I love, love, love sitting on the floor and building Lego houses and watching her imagination and creativity or making playdough pizza’s with all the trimmings. I love reading books and all the questions that come with it. And I love snuggles and loves. And I absolutely love that I am in a place in life that when Mrs. Potts sings Beauty and the Beast theme and Bella says “grammy let’s dance”…we can waltz our way through the living room and cherish every moment.

About 49andcounting

Hi! I'm a mom, wife, grammy, sister, friend at that ALMOST 50 age!! (Okay, since I started this a few years ago...well, add a bit to 49andcounting!) How the heck did I get here so fast?!? I love, love, love- my girls, antiques, rural America, history, Jesus, junkin, the lake and my Big Boy...not particularly in that order. It's about time I change this profile a bit. After a year or living in our 5th wheel in beautiful Pennsylvania, My Big Boy and I are back to the Kansas Prairies. And there's just nothing like "Home Sweet Home". Hitting the Big 50 has its own unique, well...let's say...blessings :) So come along, laugh with me...cry with me...praise God with me...and let's do this 49andcounting thing, together!
